Creative Activities / Events / Community Programming:The Arts Council conducts events and programming throughout the year to support local artists, musicians, creative vendors, and to bring our community together through arts and culture. Our signature programs include the Latino Arts Festival, the Summit Arts Market, Art on the Trails, and our year-round CREATE PC Local Artist Collective where we represent upwards of 200 local artists throughout the year. We also host partnership programming including the Monster Drawing Rally with the Kimball Art Center, Art & Music Gallery Stroll with the Park City Gallery Association, Summit County Fair Fine Art Show with Summit County, and Dia de los Muertos with Artes de Mexico en Utah.
Planning and Advocacy: o Arts & Economic Prosperity 6 Study: The Arts Council successfully partnered with Americans for the Arts to conduct the sixth national study of the economic impact of the nonprofit Arts & Culture industry in Summit County. We collected over 800 audience intercept surveys at various cultural events between May 2022-May 2023 to gain in-depth insights into the impact of Summit County's Arts & Culture ecosystem. We received a final customized report based on survey data and an economic input-output model in Fall 2023. This report will reinforce the fact that an investment in Arts & Culture provides both cultural and economic benefits for our community. o Fiscal Sponsorship: We serve as a fiscal sponsor for local organizations pursuing funding for their Arts & Culture initiatives. o State of the Arts: Each year the Arts Council releases a State of the Arts report that assesses the impact of the arts in the previous year. This year's State of the Arts report provides a look into the 2021/2022 economic impact of the Arts and Culture Sector in Summit County as well as local investments made into the arts during the same year. This report provides a glimpse into the health of our local Arts and Culture sector and helps us track changes over time. The Arts Council's completion of an annual State of the Arts report is a direct result of the recommendations made in the o Project ABC Cultural Plan for Summit County: We continue to manage a long-term, community-wide cultural planning process called Project ABC: Art, Beauty, Culture The cultural plan was completed in spring 2018 and lays out a roadmap for the future of Arts & Culture in Park City/Summit County: projectabcsc.com. We have been implementing and tracking Plan progress for the last 5 years, and are excited to announce that we will be launching Project ABC 2.0-a new cultural planning process in collaboration with the Chamber and their Sustainable Tourism Plan to ensure we're strategically updating our Arts & Cultural plans and visions for the future. This work will begin in Spring 2024 and will take place for around 18 months.
Cultural Tourism / Arts & Culture Promotional Marketing: Working in lockstep with the Park City Chamber's target markets, the Arts Council publishes a digital local influencer campaign called 'Insiders Insights' to promote the variety of artistic and cultural venues and curated 'Art Adventures' in Park City and Summit County. Content includes digital advertising, boosted social media posts, and a dedicated set of web pages with detailed information on the cultural tourism activities available to visitors. Targeting markets across the country, we promote a series of cultural events from our partner organizations, and use paid search to optimize our reach to targeted audiences. We also conduct robust social media activities with over 17,000 followers on all platforms that reflect creative content that highlights our community's Arts & Culture activity. Finally, we host resources and event information on our website, pcscarts.org, engage in paid and earned media activities to promote Summit County's cultural sector, and release 2 monthly newsletters with information about events, artist grants, residency opportunities, public art, and so on.
