Program areas at Park Pride
Community engagementpark Pride engages communities through various programs including:the friends of the Park program builds individual leadership skills and community capacity by providing resources and educational programming that equip residents to create positive change in their community parks. Park Pride's educational programming includes: the Park stewardship academy, a three-month skill building program for Park leaders to learn how to improve their local parks; an annual parks & greenspace conference which showcases thought leaders from atlanta and across the nation; and 2-3 Park Pride roundtables per year. Through the volunteer program, Park Pride helps recruit, coordinate, and equip volunteers for Park improvement projects. We connect corporate and civic groups, and individuals to meaningful opportunities to make a positive impact on public parks and strengthen community connections.
Park visioningpark Pride's landscape architects guide communities through a no cost six-month public engagement process to translate the community's ideas and dreams into a conceptual "Park vision plan". The groups can then use these plans to fundraise and advocate for their desired improvements in the Park.
Capital improvements Park Pride supports capital improvements in parks through: the grantmaking program which provides funding for community driven capital improvements in local parks; and through the fiscal sponsor program whereby Park Pride provides administrative and fiscal oversight for community efforts to raise funds for Park improvement and activation projects.
