Volunteers are vital resources for delivering programs. In 2023, 1,003 unduplicated volunteers logged more than 5,436 hours through psm and 60 of those volunteers were neighborhood residents. The in-kind value of volunteer hours in 2023 was 172,876 (independent sector). The organization's current long-range plan (2023-27) features four focus areas. Fostering spiritual growth: encouraging spiritual growth by making christ and his gospel central through the practice of spiritual disciplines. This equips Parker Street and north lake wire neighborhood residents to integrate these practices into their lives, no matter where they live. Supporting lifetime learners: offering year-round educational opportunities, including academic enrichment for k-12 students. A summer workforce program teaches young high schoolers essential job skills, provides stipends, and emphasizes the importance of saving. Stabilizing the neighborhood: enhancing the quality and availability of housing by leveraging volunteers and partnerships with landlords and agencies. Activities such as neighborhood cleanups, landscaping, home repairs, and the construction of homes for those underhoused and cost- burdened to stabilize families and contribute to a vibrant, mixed-income community. Cultivating connections: bridging gaps in relationships and services through activities like the neighborhood christmas store and community gatherings. Strengthening ministry connections with Parker Street and north lake wire families fosters a diverse community that learns from and cares for one another.
