Program areas at Parkinson Place
Parkinson Place is a 9,000 sq ft comprehensive care center dedicated exclusively to the physical, mental, emotional and social needs of those living with all movement disorders, their families and caregivers. Evidence based programs support a better life today for those living with Parkinsons and other movement disorders. The Integrative Medicine Program offers over 85 free classes per month including Yoga, Tai-Chi, Dance, Voice, Music, Boxing, Fitness and Pedaling.
Parkinson Place offers support groups in person and online. Circle of Support for men & women with movement disorders encourages open discussions to address questions and concerns at every phase of a movement disorder. Members gain valuable coping skills, strategies and insights on effectively navigating daily life. Caregivers Only Club provides caregivers support, coping skills and survival strategies. Caregivers can ask questions and talk about feelings in a private, informal and nurturing setting.
Parkinson Place Center presents Empower Hour educational programs twice each week. Speakers from the local community include neurologists, speech therapists, interns from local universities and many others discussing medical treatment options, health care needs, and other topics of interest to people living with movement disorders. Our medical director speaks monthly and is available to answer questions. Lunch is served so our members can socialize and get to meet others in similar circumstances. All programs are free of charge.
