For 40 years, Partnership Against Domestic Violence (PADV), the largest nonprofit domestic violence organization in Georgia, has provided professional, compassionate, and empowering support to battered women and their children in metro Atlanta. Serving metro Atlanta since 1975, PADV transforms the lives of 18,000 women, children and teens every year through emergency intervention, violence prevention and long-term advocacy. Today, the agency has 39 full- and part-time staff with an administrative office and two 24-hour emergency shelters in Fulton and Gwinnett counties.

Program areas at PADV

Emergency shelter for women & children: padv core program, emergency shelter for adults and children, 24 hour emergency shelter, 24 hour crisis stabilization support, case management, support groups and more. Two shelters are only state certified in the city of atlanta and gwinnett county. The progam provides a safe haven for victims of Domestic Violence and their children, and offers shelter, necessities, food, clothes, and support groups, case management, mental and medical healthcare, transport and job opportunities. Often we are the first link to safety planning, info, and support to callers in danger and those with battery questions.
Community-based Domestic Violence services: padv provides an array of community based services for survivors who many not need shelter but do need assistance to escape a violent relationship and remain free of Violence. Services include case management, advocacy, public benefit assessment and assistance, support groups and housing referrals, childcare, mental and medical healthcare, transportation and jobs. Support groups are offered across metro atlanta and provide a safe place for women who have left violent relationships or continue to live with abusers to come together and share experiences, offer encouragement, support and generate ideas on ways to live Violence free.
