Program areas at Partnership for Growth

Freedom farms conducted an rfp that resulted in a cohort of 13 grantee organizations receiving $780,000 in funding to establish and expand urban farms; launched a pilot youthbuild growers program teaching high school students about gardening and the outdoors; invested in development of a grocery store in the historical and food insecure neighborhood of leimert park, set to open november 2024.
Read lead freedom schools conducted a third year of free summer literacy development programming serving 30 k-8 students, and expanded program to year-round after school programming to support 100 k-8 students students.
Project jubilee conducted a second cohort of paid workforce development and wellness support with 30 transition aged youth who trained in the fields of property management, urban farming, or food service/barista, and resulted in an impressive 92% graduation rate.
Resource connection events collaborated with it's bigger than us to: sponsor their back 2 school festival reaching 8,000 community members and supported refurbishment of crenshaw high school's basketball court, as well as sponsor a holiday toy giveaway for 300 students at hillcrest elementary school. Partnered with community organizations to expand awareness regarding urban farming, reading literacy and workforce development.
