We have a public private partnership with the City of Providence City: Providence Parks Department - 3 Programs - Total $83,590: 1 Providence Parks Urban Wildlife Refuge is a collaboration between the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service programs the City of Providence-Parks Department and the Partnership for Providence Parks. They strive to connect children and their families to nature using city parks and urban greenspaces as outdoor learning areas. $68,178; 2 Earth Day - Provide mini-grants to local community groups wanting to do outdoor improvement projects in parks schools or recreation centers. $8748. including grants of $6,900; 3 Park Programs - $6,664 was used for activities at summer lunches program in city parks. Recreation Department - 3 Programs - Total $94,250 1 Year Round Youth Programs - P3 coordinates staffs and purchases materials for programs including but not limited to weekly clubs field trips and reverse field trips for program leaders independent contractors $22,890 and materials and supplies $36,699; 2 Angel Baskets - Grant and donation funds for holiday gifts and food for recreation families $16,560; 3 Girls Club - A grant funded project focused on building academic success developing skills for self care learning healthy life habits and a way to build lifelong healthy relationships and offer critical support among an intergenerational community of BIPOC girls and women. $18,101 Art Culture & Tourism - 1 Program - $3,578 1 Completion of a public art mural funded through a Bloomberg Grant. Police Community Relations Department - 2 Programs - Total $15,752 1 Angel Baskets - Donation funds for holiday gifts and food $11,952. 2 Wiggins Village Golf Tournament $3,800 collected donations and volunteers for event. 5 City Council - 2 programs - $21,481 1 Grant Funded Mural and garden improvements for Cabral Park $5,586; 2 Neighborhood and Summer BBQs $15,895 provided games face painters staff and activities for events held throughout the spring summer and fall.
We continued to create mobile art carts stocked with a variety of art materials to allow placemaking projects throughout Providence. During 2023 ArtCarts were at several Downcity events designed to benefit the Providence tourism and hospitality industries. Four artists who received a grants in 2022 worked with youth in recreation centers to design and install murals.
