Program areas at Paso del Norte Children's Development Center
The early childhood intervention (eci) program provides rehabilitation services to children (birth to three years of age) who have developmental disabilities in el Paso county. The eci program served a total of 1,561 children in fy 2023. The average delivered hours per child was 2.48 hours per month. The program continues to meet the highest rating of: "meets requirements of part c".
The inclusive early learning Center (ielc) provides childcare and early education services for children with and without special needs including traditional childcare and after school, services were provided to 49 children in fiscal year 2022-2023.
The community resource Center (crc) provides information and referral services, support services including recreational activities, respite, parent training, workshops and case management, the crc served a total of 4,201 clients for the fiscal year 2022-2023. The applied behavior analysis (aba) program provided aba therapy to 28 children with autism for the fiscal year 2022-2023. The pediatric therapy department offers auditory verbal therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy and feeding therapy. For fiscal year 2022-2023 they served 123 children.
The Center started a new program in fiscal year 2013-2014 to continue providing services to children that age out of the eci program at three years old. This program helps the children transition from eci to services provided by the schools. El papalote in partnership with episd started two pre-kinder classrooms for children three and four years of age.
