Program areas at Pathpoint
Community Integration Services: Provides day services for individuals with physical and developmental disabilities who generally reside at home, in long-term care facilities, or in intermediate care facilities. PathPoint offers programs, services and facilities that support community integration and learning in sanitary, well-maintained, healthy, and stimulating environments. Activities are designed to maintain a high quality of life while encouraging maximum social, intellectual, and physical capabilities. PathPoint services provide the support necessary to allow people with special needs to live with dignity and self-confidence in their community and enjoy their lives. Community Integration Programs also provided vocational training, work-readiness assistance, and community access skills. Individuals may receive part-time paid vocational training is dedicated to community access and social survival skills: banking, budgeting, public transportation, safety and recreational planning. During the FY 22/23, PathPoint served 900 individuals of the Community Integration Services.
Independent Living Services: PathPoint facilitates greater independence in daily living, less dependence on direct care and increase community integration. PathPoint's Independent Living Programs offer individuals with special needs the assistance and support required to live in their communities as independently as possible. PathPoint staff work with residents to plan, coordinate, and provide the services that they may need and prefer to achieve their goals. Instructors teach individuals independent living skills and household responsibilities such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, and personal care. Individuals attend classes designed to teach community mobility and safety, personal effectiveness, social skills, social-sexual education, health and nutrition, recreation planning, and budgeting and banking. During FY 22/23, PathPoint supported 609 community members in Independent Living Services.
Employment Services: PathPoint offers a wide variety of services to help low-income individuals with developmental disabilities and disadvantages overcome barriers to employment, to place them in jobs, and to provide them with the training and support they need to keep jobs. Programs include service coordination, external situational assessment, personal and social adjustment, job development and placement, supported employment, work adjustment, and computer training. Steady employment is a driving force behind dignity, social integration, well-being and positive self-image. During FY 22/23, PathPoint supported 1,422 members of the community towards long-term employment.
PathPoint incurs a variety of program-related expenses that do not fall into the three primary categories. These expenses include the operation of a counseling center for children and adults funded primarily through insurance, maintenance and other costs associated with owning property,and write-offs from prior fiscal years. During FY 22/23, PathPoint supported 88 members of the community towards additional supported living needs.
