Program areas at Payne-Phalen Community Council
Engage residents in proposing, facilitating and addressing development and land use options, including housing and commercial projects. Work includes citizen review of development plans, licensing, zoning and related matters that impact the business environment and improve quality of life,
Hiring translators to work with us, side-by-side in-community, to conduct presentations, discussions, and trainings in the primary language of our residents and households: Hmong, Spanish, Somali and Karen. This allowed PPCC and our project partners to center BIPOC voices and help ensure that we are overcoming a common barrier (language) thereby creating and enhancing access to low cost, convenient, clean-energy transportation options for those whose employment and education options are limited because they cannot afford to own their own car.
Enabled PPCC to help with engagement related to the roll-out of the new car sharing service Evie.
