Other programs:educators rising is a premier nationwide grow your own teacher career and technical education (cte) program that inspires high school students to pursue education as a career and provide a clear pathway to increase teacher diversity and teacher quality. As a career and technical student organization (ctso), educators rising supports our 51% diverse students through chapters that facilitate support and networking, our academy curriculum and beginning to teach micro-credentials that prepares students for their future profession, competitions to give students a chance to prove themselves as professionals, and conferences that provide a national stage in which to network and be recognized for their achievements. Students can continue to participate in this network by participating in educators rising collegiate, which offers further support to keep students on the path to graduate and get certified.
Conference:each year, educators rising hosts a national conference to convene our network of rising educators and teacher leaders. It's a unique opportunity for students and their teacher leaders to:- connect and learn from each other through more than 40 breakout sessions;- network with other members from across the country;- compete for national titles in competitive events designed to allow students to develop and showcase their teaching skills; and- be inspired by keynote presentations from national education leaders.
Subscriptions:published since 1915, Phi Delta kappan is one of the nation's oldest and most well-respected magazines focusing on k-12 education. It features articles about educational research, practice, and policy, as well as regular columns on school and district leadership, media coverage of education, legal issues in the field, state and federal politics, and more. Published eight times per year, from september through may, the magazine is distributed in print to members of Phi Delta Kappa, while sage publications distributes a digital version of kappan to roughly 10,000 university libraries around the world. Our own web site, kappanonline.org, receives over 100,000 unique visitors per month.
Member services and programs:the Phi Delta Kappa (PDK) association was established in 1906 to support teachers and school leaders by strengthening their interest in the profession. Now one of seven divisions that make up PDK International, PDK association membership serves to support education professionals from classrooms to administration and beyond. PDK association membership is for those educators who are invested in digging deeper into the most pressing issues facing educators today and navigating the intersection between research and practice. PDK association membership is for any educator who wants to learn about the most cutting-edge research in education, grow their skill set, influence the national conversation on education, and support the next generation of future educators. PDK offers a variety of membership options to assist in career growth and development by connecting members to the latest education research. The various memberships include professional, graduate student, senior, digital and lifetime memberships.
