Educational programs - to promote Peace and sustainability; helps to foster disarmament education in new york city schools and universities, and co-hosts various events at the united nations headquarters focused on human rights, sustainable development, peace-building, gender equality, indigenous issues and disarmament education together with the permanent missions to the united nations. The organization provides international educational opportunities for youth to travel and learn with the Peace Boat during its global voyages for Peace, and participates in various conferences and speaking engagements to raise awareness about these important issues and encourage youth participation. Its Peace education programs focuses on youth empowerment and combines advanced study of selected topics onboard the ship with exchange programs in various countries that explore themes including peace-building, social justice and ecological sustainability. Pbus works in cooperation with local and international ngos in the united states and around the world to create a wide range of programs, allowing for participants to support local initiatives and contribute to sustainable development. Pbus's educational activities reached approximately 7,000 people, mainly youth, in the new york and central american regions. Pbus intends continuing these initiatives as well as undertaking preparations for site visits, educational seminars and cultural events.
