Program areas at Pearl Street Community Development

Afterschool tutorialthe purpose of the afterschool program is to positively impact the lives of high poverty-low performing schools in the jackson area. The program is also designed to increase academic performance of each student.
The summer feeding program reduces hunger and provides a nutritious breakfast and hot lunches to children during the summer month while school is out. The Pearl Street cdc summer feeding provided more than 7000 hot meals during the summer of 2023.
The food pantry program meets the immediate and temporary needs of families who need assistance with food. The pantry partners as a member with mississippis only food bank, Mississippi food network to distribute food for families in need. The food pantry serves an average of 300 families a month.
Crop is a Community based program, which is a partnership between the Mississippi public institute, hinds behavorial health services and the department of mental health to promote recovery for individuals living with substance use disorders and/or mental health concerns.
The housing program maintained a property on hariotte ave.
The early memory loss program offers assessment, support, information, and advice to those with memory problems and their caregivers. The program helps individuals maintain a social and active lifestyle. The program continue to offer virtual support during the pandemic in 2023.
Special event. Blood pressure checks, health fair, blood pressure home monitor program, chronic disease home monitor program.
