Program areas at Peer Kindness
PEER Kindness is dedicated to increasing awareness of bullying behaviors among school-aged youth, taking action to prevent bullying through education for young people, educators, and parents/caregivers, providing support to children caught in the cycle of bullying through effective intervention strategies, and empowering youth to play an active role in fostering positive, inclusive environments wherever they congregate. Our mission involves training, educating, guiding, and empowering individuals and organizations to "Align with Kind and foster secure and inclusive communities that are free from bullying while promoting stronger connections among all members. In 2023, bullying prevention, education and training was provided to over 4,000 students and nearly 1,000 adults.
Outreach and community partnerships are important components of PEER Kindness. The staff connects children and youth with community resources to provide a path to hope and healing. Connections, partnerships, and relationships with area professionals who help children and youth are critical factors as we work to build kindness and reduce bullying.
Align with Kind (AWK) is our youth empowerment program, giving youth the opportunities to create effective changes in their schools. Align with Kind was in 9 middle and high schools with 110 student ambassadors creating positive changes that impacted over 4,000 students.
