Advocacy - through direct consumer assistance, education, and grassroots community organizing, phan meets people where they are, engages them in action, and builds a movement towards a better and more equitable healthcare system for all pennsylvanians. We gather the experiences of people who are impacted by proposed or current policies through community conversations held by local organizers in communities throughout our state. We combine community-identified needs, issues, and concerns with relevant data and national models to develop policy positions and recommendations that drive our advocacy work. We educate both stakeholders and communities about Health policy, helping them to understand what's at stake and ensuring they have the information to be a part of the public dialogue. We bring together diverse coalitions of stakeholders and communities - both rural and urban - throughout our state to win lasting policy change.
Consumer assistance program - phan's team of community engagement specialists help answer questions about Health insurance, the process of enrolling, re-enrolling, troubleshoot programs, work with new enrollees to become more active and engage consumers of healthcare. Phan services 65 out of 67 counties in Pennsylvania. Phan's statewide helpline receives over 11,000 calls per year and has connected over 38,000 individuals to coverage since the program has started.
