Program areas at Pennsylvania Psychiatric Society
Continuing medical education programs (cme) are offered both in-person and vitually to all members of the Pennsylvania Psychiatric Society at the district branch and chapter levels. During 2023, the Society offered a 12-month webinar series, a patient safety & risk management conference, a spring educational conference, an additction symposium, 3 resident poster events, a women's educational conference, 6 fireside chats, a resident graduation conference, and a book club virtual series.
The Pennsylvania psychiatrists newsletter is published quarterly and electronically distributed to memebers and posted in the public area of the Society website (https://papsych.org). The newsletter is a comprehensive compilation of educational, scientific and research articles, editorials, council and chapter highlights, apa national updates, and information on upcoming events and programs.
District branch (state) and chapter councils and committees meet regularly throughout the year to develop, restructure, and expand policies, procedures, and educational programs. In 2023, the district branch held its annual board orientiation in july for newly elected members and its second board retreat for all district branch and chapter leaders to review/revised goals and objectives to advance the mission of the Society. The strategic plan was reviewed and amended based on current priorties and outcome discussion at the board retreat.
