Program areas at Pennsylvania Society of Oncology and Hematology
In 2023, the annual meeting was held in a new location in suburban philadelphia. The conference provided 5.25 hours of cme credit and attracted a total of 61 attendees, down from the prior year. Ten educational programs on various Oncology and Hematology topics were presented by experts in their field and one non-cme product showcase was also presented. Our poster participation saw a significant increase over last year with 38 submissions, three of which were chosen for oral presentation. The meeting enjoyed strong support from industry, attracting 42 companies, and this year, in addition to our industry representatives, our exhibitors included representatives from the 501(c)(3) patient support community. Advocacy, always in the forefront for psoh, focused on the patient centered issues of co-pay accumulators, greater accountability for pbms, and affordable access to medication, and reimbursement issues for physicians.
Psoh provides advocacy for patient care issues and routinely distributes information regarding new treatment processes, diagnosis and care-related materials to physicians, healthcare providers and professionals. The psoh website provides a resource for members to interact with each other on issues related to their field and connects members with the national organization, asco.
