The membership department responds to member inquiries and performs active follow-up, as well as provides quarterly reports to the board of directors. It develops and implements campaigns directed at renewing lapsed and expired members, as well as implements new membership recruiting strategies. The membership department conducts an annual membership survey.
Professional development and continuing education:the psna plans, directs, administers, and coordinates continuing education and professional nursing education programs and services. Psna is an accredited approver and provider of continuing nursing education by the american Nurses center's commission on accreditation.
The psna government affairs department monitors State legislation and provides testimony on issues that impact the nursing profession. The government affairs staff informs, influences, and educates legislators in order to keep nursing's concerns in front of government officials and on policy radar. The psna government conducts grassroots advocacy as needed. This department oversees the political action committee, which gives financial contributions and endorsements to nurse-friendly legislators.
