Traditional foodways ppi brings together the complementary areas of ethnobotany, conservation, food security, health, and social justice in order to support local groups' efforts to conserve biodiversity and indigenous food traditions. It works in multiple countries to create knowledge exchange networks, including through video, and locally produces manuals, workshops, festivals, games, radio programs and other tools to promote these endangered food systems.
Knowledge exchange ppi's knowledge exchange program develops innovative tools and methods of communication that allow for the multi-directional exchange of knowledge, experiences, and lessons between communities, researchers, civil society organizations, governments, companies, and others.
Policy & trade ppi undertakes research, and provides policy advice and support, in the areas of biodiversity, emerging technology, trade, and non-timber forest products. Its voices for biojustice project brings the voices and experiences of local groups to policy makers through video, articles, and policy briefs, and provides analysis and resources to ensure more effective policy-making.
