Program areas at PetFix Northeast Ohio
Clinic operations:in 2022, our 18th year of operation, 6 transport partner organizations (non-profit animal welfare agencies) across 3 counties in Northeast Ohio invited us into their communities, secured suitable locations, advertised our services, scheduled clients and collected fees. In addition to transport partners, Petfix worked closely with more than 40 different shelters, rescues and community cat organizations to offer them affordable spay/neuter services for animals in their care. During 252 days, the clinic performed 10,298 surgeries, including 3,702 cat neuters, 3,202 cat spays, 2,096 dog neuters, and 1,298 dog spays. Through the trap-neuter-return program, Petfix spayed/neutered and ear-tipped more than 2,000 community/feral cats. In order to maintain the barrier between animals and humans, we vaccinate every cat and dog altered in our clinic that has not previously been immunized, resulting in our administration of 7,613 rabies vaccinations during 2022.since our operations commenced in december 2005, Petfix has altered 109,130 cats and dogs. Our goals for 2023 and beyond are to expand our surgical capacity, focusing on outreach to under-served communities, and more effectively measuring our efforts through better data collection from the community.
