Program areas at Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America
The Fraternity continued to invest in national partnership programs by supporting our partner organizations through sponsorships and exhibits even as in-person meetings were replaced by virtual online sessions and seminars. While the pandemic restrictions made outreach to our alumni constituents more challenging, the Fraternity was able to adjust to an increase usage of online and digital outreach methods, and did not see a significant decline in alumni or partner engagement.
The Fraternity was forced to suspend its chapter retreat program and all in-person leadership events due to travel and health & safety restrictions put in place during the pandemic, which led to reduced expenditures on in person events and the direction of additional funds to online education efforts.
The Fraternity upgraded and strengthened its risk management education programming and as a result was awarded the campus prevention network's inaugural seal of prevention, and was one of only 25 greek organizations so recognized. The Fraternity expanded and re-emphasized its mental well-being curriculum in response to the amount of student stress and anxiety introduced by the pandemic. The Fraternity also added prescription drug abuse prevention material to its general risk management education curriculum, required of all potential members prior to initiation.
