Program areas at Philadelphia Arts in Education Partnership
The Philadelphia Arts in Education Partnership (paep) achieves positive growth in students in k-12 classrooms and community sites by working collaboratively with classroom teachers, artists, school districts and cultural organizations in southeastern Pennsylvania. Through a range of programs and services, paep achieves its primary goal of advancing student learning by promoting best practices in the implementation of Arts in Education, building capacity in those who deliver these programs, and providing access to resources in support of Arts Education programs. Approximately 15,120 students benefited directly from programs offered by paep in fiscal year june 30, 2024 by participating in over 200 Arts experiences conducted by teaching artists. More than 25,220 students, teachers, and parents shared in this process by supporting the performances and exhibits that were held to demonstrate student learning that occurred. Paep continued to manage the regional competition for poetry out loud, a program of the national endowment for the Arts supported in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania by the pa council on the Arts and its regional partners. Partnering with the Philadelphia writers project, paep again managed the regional competition for the national scholastic young artists and writers with more than 2,000 student entries. Paep conducted after school and summer steam (science, technology, engineering, Arts and mathematics) programs through the pa department of Education in 9 schools grades 3-8, continued its Arts integration program for the us department of Education in hazleton area school district, and built an Arts integration teaching and learning resource website disseminated throughout the u.s.
