Program areas at Pi Mu Epsilon
Encouragement of student authorship and reading of mathematical research articles appearing in the Pi Mu Epsilon Journal. $19,115 in production and costs used to provide one-year subscriptions to all new members and subscriptions and renewals to interested individuals.
Reinforce student scholarship and research in mathematics through direct support of student members at our national conference; $12,301 was awarded to students to defray travel and subsistence and costs; $1950 for a student reception at our national meeting and Andree Award prize; $500 Honorarium to give the named invited address at our national meeting.
Fund mathematical conferences and prize contests to recognize outstanding mathematics achievement, promote undergraduate scholarship, and increase level of activities at the society's local chapters by giving grants to partially fund local conferences, prize/speaker awards, and invited speakers. A total of $1075 was awarded to Pi Mu Epsilon Chapters as prize grants, $1500 as conference grants, and $327.78 as a lectureship grant.
