Cleveland International Piano competition for young artists (cipc for young artists) - this is a Piano competition for young artists between the ages of twelve through eighteen. 213 applications were submitted, and 32 pianists were selected to participate. 11 countries were represented, and $30,000 in prize money was awarded. Six finalists were invited to Cleveland for the unique opportunity to work closely with the conductor, professional chamber musicians, and world-class institute faculty members before their final round concerto performances.
The 2023 listening series - Piano Cleveland presented a three-part series exploring the Piano as a musical partner, the marvels of mentorship, and the joys of shared musical and familial relationships. These talks were designed to demystify classical music and take listening skills to the next level.
Institute for young artists - Piano Cleveland partnered with the Cleveland institute of music and the lang lang International music foundation to present the first edition of the cipc institute for young artists. This innovative, ten-day intensive gave pianists ages eleven through eighteen a first-hand look at conservatory training, combining top-level faculty, state-of-the-art facilities, and workshops that gave participants a unique insight into the career of a professional musician.
Education/outreach - the Piano pals program gave local Piano students ages eleven through eighteen exclusive access to cipc institute events where they observed world-class artists in masterclasses and recitals. They also connected with fellow Piano lovers their age from all over the world through social gatherings and a pen pal program with institute students. Piano also presented a variety of programs to seven Cleveland metropolitan schools including the week-long keys to read program and musical stories program. Another associated undertaking in education/outreach is pianolab. Launched in 2023, Piano lab offers after-school group keyboard instruction using a state-of-the-art keyboard lab. Additionally, Piano's senior recital program presented recitals at senior living facilities in the Cleveland area.
