Program areas at Piedmont Community College Foundation
Scholarships were awarded to 106 students in the amount of $143,550. These scholarships are funded by local businesses, organizations and individuals. The Foundation also allocates funds to its annual budget to support this program.
The pcc Foundation rewards faculty members who go above and beyond in their program of study. A peer-based committee reviews the submitted portfolios and makes award recommendations. Up to two staff members are selected from a pool of nominations to receive the staff excellence award each year. The recipients of this award demonstrate a high level of committment to the institution and the Community.
Special allocations: renovation projects and new program development may receive funding from the pcc Foundation. Institutional projects that can no longer be funded through the state are given consideration from the pcc Foundation.
Professional development for faculty and staff was awarded to threeemployees. These funds allow faculty and staff to take a courseexternally to further their education to a higher degree. Additionally,the Foundation will pay for one course at the College per academic yearfor employees.
The student incentive program encourages students who earn their highschool equivalency diploma by funding their first pcc course in adegree/diploma curriculum or short-term training class. Funding is alsoavailable to students who need assistance paying for the ged or hisettest through the adult basic skills program.
Friends of the College events are held in an effort to promote thecollege throughout the Community.
