Program areas at Pikes Peak Marathon
Pikes Peak ascent and Marathon - our premiere races promotiong fitness and allowing runners to test their physical limits by climbing americas mountain. Approximately 800 runners for the Marathon and 1700 for the ascent. Race starts in manitou springs and runners climb the barr trail to the top of Pikes Peak for the ascent and make the full round trip for the Marathon.
Barr trail mountain race - trail race promoting fitness and allowing runners to test their physical limits along the barr trail. Approximately 400 runners run a 12.6-mile course at the cog railway station (6,750 ft.) in manitou springs, Colorado, ascends Pikes Peak's iconic barr trail to barr camp (10,200 ft.) before turning, descending and finishing at the barr trailhead.
Garden of the gods 10 mile - 10-mile race promoting fitness and allowing runners to test their physical limits through the scenic garden of the gods. Approximately 1600 runners race on a route through the garden of the gods park in the west side of Colorado springs.
