Regulatory and legal advocacy to prevent the overbuild of gas infrastructure: PLAN-NE engaged in state regulatory proceedings inMassachusetts and federal court and regulatory proceedings to prevent the overbuild of gas infrastructure and minimize environmental and community impacts. A major infrastructure project that PLAN-NE opposed was suspended in 2017, and another conceptual buildout that PLAN-NE opposed never proceeded to a formal proposal.
Education and Outreach Regarding Proposed Gas Infrastructure to Support Public Engagement in Proceedings: Maintained informational website; sent 17 e-newsletters; participated in radio and print interviews and penned op-eds and letters to the editor for several news outlets; participated in local meetings and informational sessions.
