Pitt County Coalition on Substance Use provides counseling and training for substance abuse. It organized a successful Golf Tournament Fundraiser with more than 50 players participating. The coalition actively participates in community events such as Pirate Fest, Health Department Holiday Event, Trunk or Treat, and others. It hosted the Speaking Your Truth to Live Recovery Event in September in addition to adding three new board members.

Program areas at Pitt County Coalition on Substance Use

Handed out over 600 doses of Naloxone and facilitated over 10 Naloxone trainings Attended community events: Pirate Fest, Pride Fest, National Night Out, NAMI IVC Premier, and Mental Health Expo and others. Collaborated with Pitt County Sheriffs Office and ECU Health to host annual medication take back event. Was asked to speak at the Greenville City Council Meeting regarding underage drinking and alcohol outlet density. Distributed over 300 locking devices for alcohol and over 1200 lock boxes for medication storage Received opioid settlement funds to be distributed on a reimbursement basis
