Pittsburgh Arts and Lectures aims to connect celebrated authors with the community, elevate civic discourse, and inspire creativity and a passion for the literary arts through five signature programs. These programs include lectures held in historic venues such as Carnegie Music Hall and the Poetry Room in Carnegie Library Main, as well as the Mainstage program which presents acclaimed authors over ten evenings. Program areas at Pittsburgh Arts and Lectures

Pa&l serves our mission through five signature programs. Lectures take place in the historic carnegie music hall, carnegie library lecture hall, and the poetry room in the carnegie library main.ten evenings is our mainstage series presenting authors with literary acclaim generously sharing their research and creative process in conversational Lectures. Words & pictures presents celebrated children's and young adult authors to readers of all ages. Poets aloud features free readings by nationally recognized published poets. Made local showcases talented local authors as well as books and writers with a Pittsburgh connection. New & noted brings nationally touring authors to Pittsburgh with their newly released titles. Pa&l presented a total of 30 programs last fiscal year. Tickets sold totaled 14,800 and registration for free events totaled 6,684.
