Plains Better Hometown Program - festivals and other special events such as the annual Plains peanut festival, haunted house and community center events and other projects to promote the home town of the 39th prsident of the united states. The Plains Better Hometown is partnering with the friends of jimmy carter national historic site to have more events and bring more tourist into Plains, Georgia. The book "Plains and simple" continues to sell. President and mrs. carter will sign them and they are being purchased for wedding gifts, christmas gifts, etc. With the continuing renovation of the 'haunted house" it has become a great community event place. While not totally refinished it has been used for Plains Better Hometown christmas parties, holloween parties and a murder mystery dinner play. As president and mrs. carter are aging, Plains Better Hometown is working hard to diligently find new opportunities to continue our mission of maintaining the home town of the 39th president of the united states.
