Program areas at Plan NH - The Foundation for Shaping the Built Environment

In may, Plan NH held a community design charrette in brentwood, NH. In july, Plan NH held a community design charrette in manchester, NH. In july, Plan NH also hosted "it started with a charrette," a community walking tour in franklin, NH focused on The process and outcomes of their previous charrettes with Plan NH. The event ended at a local establishment where attendees heard from a local business owner and enjoyed networking time with one another. In september, Plan NH held a community design charrette in campton, NH.
In june, Plan NH hosted our annual awards evening, recognizing outstanding projects that have had a positive impact on communities as well as recipients of The Plan NH scholarship & fellowship program. We awarded 29,500 in scholarships to 13 students who call NH home and are studying in a field related to The Plan NH mission, as well as The following six projects with a 2023 merit award of excellence: berlin riverwalk - berlin harmony place - durham makers mill - wolfeboro pope memorial library addition & renovations - north conway rethinking pleasant street - claremont ruth lewin griffin place - portsmouth in december, Plan NH recognized rob prunier of harvey construction with The 2023 NH construction industry ethics award.
In january, Plan NH hosted a networking event at jsa design to bring together Plan NH members and others who care about The Plan NH mission. In april, Plan NH hosted our spring workshop, making a home for solar energy in NH, at The regional economic development center in raymond, NH. In august, Plan NH hosted a networking event at The westbrook inn to bring together Plan NH members and others who care about The Plan NH mission. In september, Plan NH hosted our fall conference at hotel concord in concord, NH. There were 65 attendees for this conference. The conference was titled unlocking possibilities: community change for The better and focused on how The Built Environment can meet critical community needs of today and support community vibrancy. From housing and workforce to childcare and community connectivity, our speakers explored innovative approaches to tackling these crucial issues in new hampshire. The keynote speaker was richard amore from The Vermont department of housing and community development. In november, Plan NH presented at The access manchester and nnecapa conferences in manchester and new castle respectively.
In january, Plan NH welcomed program manager alissa del tufo to The team to manage The investnh municipal planning & zoning grant program. Throughout 2023, Plan NH, in partnership with new hampshire housing, continued to administer The investnh municipal planning & zoning grant program, awarding 4,374,939 to over 60 communities across The state looking to expand housing options and community engagement in their area. In february, Plan NH hosted our annual "virtual town hall," introducing board members and plans for The year. In october, Plan NH hosted our annual golf classic and fundraiser at beaver meadows in concord, hosting 110 players and raising over 23,000 for The Plan NH mission and scholarship fund. Throughout 2023, Plan NH membership grew to 90+ firms, municipalities, nonprofits, and individuals passionate about NH's Built Environment. Plan NH continues to inform and inspire communities, as well as The planners, designers and builders who shape them, about ideas, trends and practices that could contribute to creating delightful places in which to live, work, and/or play. We do so through our events and through newsletters, blog entries, and our website - www.plannh.org.
