Program areas at Plant-A-Lot Community Garden Program
Kids gardening Program - we work with area schools and youth organizations to provide supervised educational activities emphasizing self-esteem, nutrition, and healthy living.
One vegetable one Community - food literacy initiative that raises awareness of fresh, healthy food access through gardening and cooking outreach activities focused around celebrating the vegetable of the year.
Plant-A-Lot Community gardens - provides access to gardening space, tools, educational resources and classes for people to grow food.
Taste of summer food preservation Program (formerly the cannery) - provides food preservation supplies, equipment, educational materials and classes for home preservation of fresh produce.
Produce for the people - facilitates increase of fresh, healthy food in local soup kitchens and food shelves by collecting donations of surplus produce from local gardeners and market growers.
