At the end of our fiscal year, Plowshares Theatre Company was in its final weeks of rehearsal for the world premiere of "Hastings Street" - a musical for production at Detroit's Music Hall from July 21-31, 2022. Coming out of the pandemic, this stood as a significant achievement for our company. The musical was written by two local artists and set in Detroit in 1949. The play followed the story of the Carson family as they dealt with the challenge of being uprooted due to an urban renewal project. The production involved 6 production staff, 20 actors, 11 musicians, and 56 volunteers.
