Port Huron Yacht Club promotes Great Lakes Sailing, water safety and safe boating. It fosters sailing competition among members and other sailing clubs. The club organizes and conducts sailboat races and regattas for around the buoy and long distance races, some in conjunction with other Yacht clubs. The club promotes and encourages safe boating by requiring sailboat racers to follow safe boating rules and to carry safety equipment. Port Huron Yacht Club also promotes sailing and camaraderie among sailors, using its facilities on an economical basis.
