Operating the Port exploreum in the historic henry hill building built in 1907. The exploreum creates opportunities for inspirational discovery and joyful learning through hands-on exploration of the rich history of the Port washington,wi area. Using a variety of methods of story-telling, the exploreum connects visitors with the past while relating that history with today's Port Washington. The exploreum was closed and the building sold on may 11, 2023. One consideration of the board in the sale was to stop the significant operational losses that had occurred and jeopardized the stability and going concern of the organization.ongoing restoration of the historic 1860 Port Washington light station, tours are given to school age groups and the general public ( when available ). The light station is open to the public from may through october. A public kiosk provides information about Port Washington's navigational lights was previously completed with the aid of an eagle scout.acquisition and preservation of artifacts and archival materials germane to the area surrounding and including Port Washington wi are collected and displayed for educational and perservation.
