The mission of Portersville Christian School is to glorify god by preparing students to serve christ and instilling high standards spiritually, academically, socially, and physically. The School provides a high-quality academic program, a vibrant spiritual environment, and a variety of extra-curricular activities to achieve this mission.the School has served the Christian community of butler, lawrence, and mercer counties for 60 years. The quality of the academic program can be measured in several ways. Most graduates of pcs qualify for admission to their first-choice college or university. Many graduates are admitted to schools with highly competitive admissions requirements, or specialized programs that have higher than normal standards. The School utilizes the terra nova achievement test for students in k-10th grades, and pcs students achieved scores in the 70th percentile in reading, language, and mathematics. Our upper high School students take the psat/sat exams and score above the state and national average. Pcs offers dual credit, advanced placement, and honors courses. Dual credit courses are offered through bc3 and geneva college. Students who wish to take advantage of these advanced courses can earn college credits equivalent to one year of college at a drastically reduced cost.the spiritual life of the School begins with all subjects taught from a biblical worldview by teachers who are professing christians. All grades have a daily bible class. We worship together as a School community weekly. There are specific School days that are devoted to service. Students assist with nursing home patients, operation christmas child efforts, local elder care ministries, and a thanksgiving food distribution for local rescue mission. These efforts touch lives of hundreds each year as well as benefit multiple local bible camps' ministries. Students have the opportunity to participate in a mission trip to the dominican republic during spring break. While there, students volunteer to help medical and dental teams, and provide a vacation bible School program to local children.athletics at pcs is something that the entire warrior community enjoys. The athletic program at pcs contributes to our mission by developing physical abilities. Participation in athletics also builds character and advances social maturity. We participate in the swcac conference. Last year the varsity soccer lost the swcac championship, while the volleyball girls team won the championship. The boys' basketball team lost the championship and girls varsity basketball won their championship. The School's archery program continues to grow and improve. Several archers placed in state and national tournaments. Like athletics, our theatre program contributes to our mission by building character while allowing student to use their god-given creative talents. The School features a middle School musical in the fall. There is also a school-wide musical, which was joseph and the amazing technicolor dreamcoat. Students can take music lessons or participate in small musical ensembles. Upperclassmen have the chance to participate on the worship team. Our choral and orchestra ensembles perform a winter and spring concert. Elementary students perform multiple classroom plays during the year.
