NW Youth Careers Expo-The NW Youth Careers Expo is the Northwests largest career-learning opportunity for high school students. It features approximately 200 booths hosted by employers and postsecondary partners in all industry sectors and attracts thousands of students from area high schools. Its purpose is to 1 educate students about the amazing range of career opportunities in our region and the skills/education needed to pursue those jobs, and 2 help Oregon employers build an educated, skilled and diverse workforce. Sponsors cover event costs and suppport our year-round work with students and employers. The 2023 Expo attracted more than 210 exhibitor booths and drew more than 5,000 students and educators from 70 high schools.
Portland Workforce Alliance works year-round with high schools, employers, colleges and other postsecondary partners to create meaningful career-learning experiences that help high school students prepare for life after graduation. We welcome all students, with extra outreach and support for students from underrepresented and marginalized communities. Every year, we create thousands of opportunities for high school students to discover their career aspirations. In a typical year, we provide Portland-area students with up to 10,000 career-learning experiences, including mentorships, career days, mock interviews, and the annual NW Youth Careers Expo.
