The mentoring program is geared toward african american/biracial youth (6th - 12th grade) to help with various things, including to change the Perception of african american males and females in a predominantly white community, create a safe environment for students to be and express themselves, empower mentees to be good samaritans, help mentees learn and develop necessary life skills, help mentees take advantage of opportunities, help mentees develop networking and social skills, build trust, strengthen educational pipeline, improve faculty, staff, and community cultural competency, and increase graduation rates for african american and biracial population.
