Program areas at Power Shift Network
Power Shift Network mobilizes the collective Power of young people to mitigate the climate crisis and create a just, clean energy future and resilient, thriving communities for all. With a national Network of more than 100 climate and environmental organizations, we're building a strong, intersectional, bottom-up movement to take on the climate crisis, Shift the Power, and create systemic change. Our major activity in fy 2023 was our bi-annual signature program: ps23 convergence, which is a meeting hub for climate and social justice activists to share knowledge and deepen the interpersonal kinships critical to the fight against oppression and climate destruction. Ps23 convergence brought together over 650 young people, primarily from the us and including territories as far away as Guam, to deepen in the practices of self and communal care as a proactive measure in the resistance to climate destruction. Ps23 convergence helped attendees acquire the skills necessary to become the social justice and climate change leaders we need, with programming including disability justice and praxis, solidarity economy frameworks, financial accessibility, arts and culture, Network weaving and resource decentralization.
