Program areas at Powerlifting Lifting America
Powerlifting America has established multiple education programs for referees, athletes, coaches, and volunteers. These programs include education and implementation of anti-doping through WADAs ADEL program for all world team members and coaches, SafeSport training for all referees, volunteers, coaches, and event directors, and an internationally-recognized coaching certification program for club-level, national-level, and international-level coaches.
Powerlifting America sent approximately 300 athletes to a variety of International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) world events, which are sanctioned under the International Olympic Committee (IOC), meaning the events are of the highest sports standards in the world, including WADA, CCES, and USADA drug testing and anti-doping protocols. Athletes vary in age from 14 and up, with divisions for Sub-Junior, Junior, Open, Masters, and adaptive/Sport For All athletes (an initiative started by the IOC to make sure everyone and anyone is given the opportunity to compete). Expenses for world events include travel, accommodations, meals, uniforms, athletic equipment, and fees for coaching, anti-doping, and participation.
