Call her by name production ppi received the inaugural millennium park residency grant from the city of chicago department of cultural affairs and special events where the theatrical production call her by name was produced. Call her by name set an explosive stage for a multi-disciplinary theatrical production packed with music, ministry, expressive movement and a message. It was a powerful reminder of the ascension that awaits humanity when women stand in their power and fully embrace the calling on their life and vision for their future. The organization makes an annual commitment to present the ppi pillar award to 3 members of the community for their distinguished service and commitment to the development, growth, and revival of people and communities. Over nine hundred audience members were in attendance.
Rize professional company rize pro-elite is ppi's award-winning professional dance company; comprised of all women of color. The company uses movement styles from the african diaspora and storytelling to amplify the voices and narrative of the black experience. This sisterhood of artist creates a safe space for artistic growth, enlightenment, and personal evolution for its sister members. Rize galvanizes the next generation of black women leaders by providing resources, professional development and additional opportunities of support to its dancers throughout the year. Ppi also provides nanny services during rehearsals and performances for its dancers who are mothers, so they do not have to choose between motherhood and following their passion in the arts. Nine dancers and four directors are supported.
