Program areas at Prestige Learning Institute
Children's programs-prestige Learning institute(pli) shared god's love with 144 children this year, encouraging both physical and academic development using curriculum embedded with biblical truth. Pli provides trauma-informed care, supporting entry into the u.s. school system. The week-long english camp grew from 65 to 91 children in the current year. The english curriculum focused on biblical heroes and included community engagement including a firefighter, doctor and 2 police officers, teaching the children that they too can become heroes. The after school program provided tutoring and social opportunities for 32 5 to 12-year-old kids through their academic-year. Reading levels improved by an average of 1.5 grade levels over the year.
Adult programs - pli works with both women and men to thrive in the u.s. -esl classes- women's classes grew from 149 students to 185 this year, with 82% of students advanced to a higher level and 5 graduating from the advanced classes. Pli started a new men's esl class in the summer of 2023. -women's program- they had 123 home visits to connect with immigrant and refugee women, demonstrating god's love and to help equip and empower them to thrive in the u.s. There were 40 participants in the teen girls program, of whom 20 were new this year. -men's program- pli continued to build relationships with immigrant and refugee men through weekly community nights and special events, an average of about 40 men attending those events, an increase of 25% from prior year.
