National dea prescription drug takebacks: partnering with local law enforcement, community organizations, and volunteers to lower the accessibility of prescription medication in the county. At the april 2024 drug takeback, 879.5 lbs of unused medication was collected at five locations. Promotion of proper drug disposal throughout the year including promotion of permanent drop box locations and distribution of free home medication lock boxes. Increased awareness of risk of underage alcohol use though virtual reality driving simulations and online education in schools. Family mental health and substance misuse education via an interactive event named prevent4success. Hosted monthly and quarterly meetings to share resources about services available in the county.
Continued operations of the safe baby court program in partnership with the rutherford county juvenile court system. Continued the family preservation initiative program to coordinate wrap-around services for rutherford county families with a child experiencing behavioral health challenges. Continued the faith-based initiative programs with project lifeline to increase recoveyr support services in middle Tennessee.
Tn save a life - first responder program trained 459 first responders in a 14 county area. First responders referred 540 individuals to care coordinators for peer support and referral to the behavioral healthcare system.
