Program areas at PRISM Economic Development Corporation
Upstart Kitchen - Provided a kitchen to budding entrepreneurs in economically depressed communities so that they have access to a professional-grade kitchen and ecosystem of community support. The Kitchen also served 18 catering events for local events that allowed some of the entrepreneurs to hone their skills and make their products known to others.
Brigade MKE - a city-wide initiative that teaches culinary and hospitality skills to Milwaukee children ages 14 to 22. In 2022, we built out a kitchen at a local church where we plan to run this program starting in 2023.
Catering Contracts - Secured a contract to provide catering services to another Milwaukee nonprofit. We subcontracted this work to members of our UpStart Kitchen program, which provided our budding entrepreneurs with economic opportunities and business experience that helps them grow their businesses.
Community Meals - We provided meals to people in need throughout the Mil- waukee area by utilizing our kitchen space, entrepreneurs, and partners.
