Program areas at Our Justice
Our Justice abortion assistance programs provide financial assistance and hotel stays to those seeking abortion care in Minnesota. In Our 2023 fiscal year we provided $243,097 in abortion assistance funds for medical care, and $9,750.81 in hotel stays for those traveling to access care. These funds represent assistance provided to 680 individuals.
Our Justice's education and community engagement programs have been vital in bringing awareness about reproductive Justice; a vision where all people have the power and resources to have children, not have children, and parent in safe and healthy environments. We do this work in collaboration with many local and national partners and bring in a modest amount of funds from speaking engagements on this issue.
Our Justice's advocacy program resulted in several significant achievements for reproductive Justice. These include the establishment of municipal funds for abortion and gender affirming care through hennepin county and the city of minneapolis. We secured additional protections in the legislature for abortion care and an increase of 20% for medicaid reimbursements. Expenses for this program are reflected in staff salaries.
