Program areas at Problem Gambling Network of Ohio
Capacity building: provides training for all professionals involved in the continuum of the Gambling support service system, including: operators, regulators, prevention, intervention, and treatment professionals. Through these efforts, pgno enhances the worforce's knowledge in identifying, screening, and treating those with a Gambling Problem or Gambling use disorder.
CONSULTATION: To further enhance workforce development throughout the continuum of care, the consultation program aids organizations in the integration of gambling disorder throughout their services, communications and culture. PGNO works directly with staff and leadership on allocation focus, process improvement and system change. The goals of the consultation program are to assist service-provider agencies in the delivery of comprehensive services throughout the continuum of care. This includes intake and assessment procedures, referral to treatment, clinical and prevention services, human resources, marketing and communications and internal policy. The consultation program is comprised of training, consultation meetings, staff rounds and an outcome evaluation.
Warm transfer: coordinate with the Ohio Problem Gambling helpline, have certified Gambling counselors available during nights and weekends to provide triage support for those who call the helpline. In addition to the on-call services, pgno also conducts monthly quality assurance calls to the helpline and the referral providers to ensure that the resources and referrals are most appropriate for the callers.
Ohio Gambling Conference:PGNO coordinates the Annual Ohio Problem Gambling Conference. The conference brings together all sectors of the gambling support service system that includes: prevention, treatment, recovery, operators and regulators.
