Program areas at Progressive Health Partnership NFP
Progressive Health Partnership's Omukazi Namagara Program aims to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality and morbidity in communities of southwestern Uganda by improving prenatal, intranatal, and postnatal care for approximately 2,500 women per year. Through program, Progressive Health Partnership strengthens local health centers by providing medications, supplies, and equipment. Program also involves training and oversight of community health workers who carry out education activities and conduct home visits to women during and after pregnancy. Since beginning of program, prenatal visits have approximately doubled and deliveries at health facilities have increased by an estimated 50 percent. Program also includes academic research evaluation to measure the impact of community health worker intervention.
