Program areas at Project Education Plus
The Chicago Demons Basketball Programs provide organized teams for boys and girls in Grades 1-12. The youth have weekly mentoring sessions, workouts, practices, camps, and clinics. Team development, skill training, and sportsmanship are stressed. Anti-violence, character building, tutoring, and academic success activities are also provided.
The Maryann Donlon Senior Citizen Program provides social, recreational, and technical activities for low-income and fixed-income seniors and adults in the community. The program includes field trips and cultural events. Health, safety, utilitiy management, scam, and other life skill seminars are offered.
The PEP Academy Program provides STEM, literacy, and mentoring for particiapants in Grades 1-12. Programming is after-school, days the students are not in school, and during the summer break. The non-school day programs operate 9:00a-5:00p. The extended day eight-week summer program is used to close the learning gap during their time away from the traditional class setting. The mentoring programs focus on anti-violence and other pitfalls that hinder yout progress. Our older high school youth are directed toward college and/or career choices. PEP provides financial scholarships and assistace with applying for colleges and job applications
