Program areas at Project Home
Goal: Hosting and support for asylum seekers in our local communities as they pursue their asylum cases. In 2020, we brought into host homes in our region four families or individuals who are seeking asylum, totaling 5 adults and 7 children. Following a period of quarantine in most cases, all were provided with housing, food, clothing, health care and legal representation. Children were enrolled in school and summer programs. Adults were enrolled in English classes and vocational education as appropriate. As needed, we provided transportation, tutoring, translation, and any other needs. Family A: 2 adults, 3 children. Arrived 2/1/2020. Hosted for 334 days. Family B: 1 adult, 1 child. Arrived 2/7/2020 . Hosted for 328 days. Family C: 1 adult, 3 children. Arrived 6/15/2020. Hosted for 197 days. Family D: 1 adult. Arrived 10/3/2020. Hosted for 89 days.
