La Colorada Community development Project, provide materials for the construction of 8 low income homes and the finishing of the community health clinic. The project has helped bring about a sense of community and cooperation and made significant changes in in the culture of community service and ability to resolve other problems affecting the entire community. 95% of alllabor was provided by community volunteers. Children's Safe Water Project provided water filtrauon and treatment to 986 individuals, an aqueduct to serve 1,187 people with water The Imberts Duarte School with a septic system and two bathrooms and 10 families with latrines. A total of 1,743 beneficiaries. The Hydraid water filters have demonstrated a reduction of 50% in incidences of diarhea, the economic impact for poor families thatno longer have to spend up to 15% on drinking water greatly improves family economics. New Horizons womens empowerment Project develops women leader role models from the slums of Puerto Plata whointurn form little sisters clubs within their own slums and provide weekly club programs. Additionally extracurricular activities including music, sports teams and summer camps are provided. The program has increased school attendance and completion, as a result we now have 4 girls who are attending the university and another 7 who plan to attend in 2018.
